A big welcome to our new and old customers.

We have created a place where all of our information is available in one place.  Need our menu,  opening hours, how to order etc?  It's hopefully all here!

We like to do things a little differently at Lorenzo's!  Whether you place your order for collection, delivery or just walk into the shop absolutely everything is cooked fresh to order.  You may wait a little longer but we believe that everyone deserves freshly cooked food.

To save yourself some time you may place an order for collection but please be aware that these collection slots are often booked out very quickly (especially at weekends).  Phones lines open approx. half an hour before opening for you to place your order.  Collection orders are prioritised at the shop and there is no need to join the queue just let us know your booking name when you arrive.  Walk in orders may be subject to extended waiting times at busy times. Your patience is appreciated while we deal with collection & delivery orders.   If for any reason you have to cancel, please let us know ASAP so that your food doesn't go to waste as it is cooked especially for you and is not sold to anyone else!

All pre-orders should be telephoned into the shop.  Unfortunately we cannot accept orders placed by messaging the website or on social media as we are unable to check these regularly during service.

At Lorenzo's we are a Dad, Mum, Daughter and Son team.  As a family run business we take great pride in what we do and we hope that by going that extra mile it makes a difference to our final product and to our customers.

IMPORTANT INFO:  To keep our overheads at a minimum and our prices as low as we can during this time, we are not on any online ordering apps such as Just Eat and we accept cash payments only.

Lastly, we are NOT a fast food restaurant.  We cook fresh food as fast as we can.  We hope to see you soon!

A BIT OF HISTORY

Our Fish & Chip shop on Church Street has been there for many years.  In a previous life it was called the Ferri Fish Bar owned by Luigi & Maria Ferri who opened in October 1965.  After having owned & ran fish & chip shops in East Kilbride and Glasgow City Centre our family uprooted to start a new adventure in the beautiful town of Dunoon.  Lorenzo alongside his father, Orlando and his partner Bronagh took over the Ferri Fish Bar in October 2000 and fully refurbished the shop and renamed it Lorenzo's in May 2003.

We loved Dunoon that much we started and raised our family here. We are now, very much a family run business, with our two grown up children working beside us.

We have had to make many changes to our business over the last few years or so with the Covid-19 pandemic and some of them have stuck!  At present all food is cooked fresh to order,  we find our regular customers (and the majority of walk in customers) prefer this.  This means you don't get food that has been sitting around waiting for long periods of time to be sold. It also helps to reduce food waste!  Orders can be placed by phone in advance.  This is absolutely not necessary it just minimises your wait time at the shop while your food is being cooked.  We also offer a home delivery service for Dunoon and the surrounding areas.

If you are coming to Dunoon for the day or a short break there is nothing better than taking your fish & chips down to the waterfront, sitting on a bench or the beach and enjoying our stunning views.
